What happens to donated computers? Donated computers are staged, tested and sorted into three categories:
- Refurbish into saleable units
- Salvage parts
- Recycled components
Students participating in computer training programs learn how to identify and test computer components.

- trains and hires individuals with disabilities
- helps sustain the community by providing recycling services for residents and businesses
- provides workplace training in a unique environment for disabled, homeless and local residents
This program significantly reduces e-waste from our waste stream turning it into positive cash flow, employment opportunities and preserving the environment.

- Goodwill processed over 8,000 pieces of computer equipment in 2004.
- Donated computer equipment provided job training for individuals in the tri-county area.
- Goodwill’s PC Recycling Center provides hands-on computer repair work experience to individuals participating in job training programs.
