Good Directions Training Program - According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, 1 in 4 women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime and SC was rated 6th nationally in the number of women killed by their male intimate. In response to this problem, Goodwill in partnership with The National Council of Jewish Women are excited to offer training to domestic abuse survivors. We believe by creating an environment where these individuals can gain the skills and confidence necessary to pursue employment opportunities, they can achieve financial stability and gain a new found independence. This focused training program is open to victims of domestic abuse and includes skill and career assessments, workplace success skills training, resume and cover letter preparation, assisted job searches and interview techniques.
Ticket to Work - The Ticket-to-Work and Self-Sufficiency program offers assistance to people who receive Social Security Disability Insurance benefits and Supplemental Security Income benefits because of a disability and want to go back to work. Ticket-to-Work program participants are eligible for employment services, vocational services or other assistance to help them go to work and earn a paycheck. These services are provided by employment networks such as Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina at no cost to participants.
 Operation Independence - Goodwill provides training and employability skills and supportive services to homeless veterans through Operation Independence. This program, funded by the Department of Labor, provides opportunities for 40 homeless veterans to acquire skills that will help them regain self-sufficiency.
QUEST! (Quit Using Excuses and Start Today!) - QUEST! is a weekly networking group that allows job seekers to share information and review skills that will help them get the job. Participants evaluate career options and establish inside contacts through shared resources with other job hunters.
 Wheels to Work - The Wheels to Work program provides individuals with a reliable vehicle to maintain or upgrade their employment. Once a donated vehicle has been deemed safe, economical and practical, the selection process begins. Community service providers refer applicants to the program based on established criteria.
Voucher Program - Goodwill's Voucher Program was established to meet the immediate needs of people whose lives have been negatively impacted by disaster. In most cases, clothing is given to the homeless population and those displaced from their home due to flood or fire. To benefit from Goodwill's voucher program, you must be referred from a local disaster relief agency or social service organization. |
